Music production platform LANDR has released Sessions, a new plug-in that lets you stream video and high-quality audio directly from your DAW.
The plug-in sits on your master bus and lets you host a Session with audio streaming, video chat and screen sharing. LANDR’s tool is primed for collaborating and getting feedback from other producers in real-time, as well as writing new music together remotely.
This could also be an invaluable plug-in for online music lessons, using the DAW to demonstrate theory and techniques.
Sessions’ set-up process is pretty straightforward. Simply download the installer and follow the instructions. Then, load the plug-in onto your master bus and press Start New Session. A Session will commence in your web browser, which LANDR suggests is Google Chrome. You can access all the streaming options from this window.
LANDR’s new tool is free, allowing 15 minutes of DAW audio streaming, unlimited video sessions and up to six collaborators. A Premium membership, which currently costs £39 a year, will let you collaborate with up to 17 other users and offers unlimited DAW streaming. Sessions is currently on an introductory offer, with the full price moving up to £69 thereafter.
